Tax Senator

£41,000 - £42,000/hour

Reports To: Tax Department Manager and Partners


Overall Purpose: To assist in the provision of a timely and first class tax service to a broad range of individual clients.


Key Responsibilities:


Case work

· Be responsible for a portfolio of tax cases and providing feedback on work completed, where



  • Prepare and submit Personal, Partnership, LLP and Trust Tax Returns, P11D, P35 and other sundry HM Revenue & Customs forms including HMRC PAYE Coding Notices on a timely basis Record keeping


  • Collating and maintaining client information


  • Inputting tax information onto tax software including Capital Gain and Capital Allowance calculations

Enquires & correspondence

  • Correspond and deal with client enquiries in relation to their personal tax issues


  • Correspond with the HM Revenue and Customs and deal with HMRC Enquiries into Tax Returns Technical Advice


Provide tax advice to members of the Audit and Accounts Team in their work

Adhoc Responsibilities

Carry out any ad hoc work as and when which is reasonably requested by


Assistant Managers, Managers and Partners.

Training and Supervisory Responsibility:

Tax Trainee Internal Relationships Primarily Partners, Tax Manager, others in


the Tax Department Team, Accounts and Audit Team Managers, Assistant


Managers, Qualified Seniors, Trainees and this would include all ABG




External Relationships

Primarily clients and HM Revenue and Customs




Essential Experience


Between 4 - 5 years experience in a similar role


Desirable Experience


5+ years experience


Generic knowledge and skills


(this would include technical knowledge, levels of professional qualifications)


AAT qualified


ATT qualified



Technical knowledge to be developed including keeping up to date on best practice and standards


Specific knowledge and skills

(includes internal operations, systems, procedures etc.)
